The Civil Police of Pernambuco launched this Thursday (12) the operation “Cadeado do Sertão”, which aims to dismantle a criminal organization involved in several crimes, such as homicides, drug trafficking, qualified arson and extortion.
Sixteen preventive arrest warrants, five temporary arrest warrants and 24 search and seizure warrants were served. The operation took place in the municipalities of Calumbi and Serra Talhada, in the backlands of the state. In addition to Pernambuco, the operation was carried out in Paraíba, Goiás and Alagoas, where the gang operated.
Coordinated by the 184th Calumbi Police Station, under the supervision of delegate Alexandre Barros, the action had the support of the Interior Operational Control Management 2 (GCOI-2) and the 21st Sectional Police Station of Serra Talhada.
The suspects were taken to the Serra Talhada Sectional Police Station, where they will remain at the disposal of the Justice Department, awaiting a custody hearing.
