This Wednesday (10th), the Ministry of Defense followed a training session at the Formosa Instruction Camp (CIF), in Goiás, as part of the closing of Operation Formosa.
Starting on August 2, the preparation brought together 3,500 personnel from the Navy, Army and Air Force. Aircraft, armored vehicles, vehicles, weapons and other equipment were used.
Held since 1988, the operation prepares the Marines as a strategic force to act in the country and abroad, such as Law and Order Guarantee (GLO) actions and support for Civil Defense in emergency situations. In this edition, it also had the participation of the United States Marine Corps.
Practices were carried out in the joint use of support weapons, tactical maneuvers, artillery fire and air operations and special operations. Aided by tanks, armored vehicles, amphibious caterpillar cars, planes, helicopters, remotely piloted aircraft, artillery howitzers and multiple rocket launchers.
There was also the jump of paratroopers, and the setting up of a trauma unit with telemedicine, a nuclear, biological, chemical and radiological decontamination post and a laboratory for the detection of chemical agents.
