Operation has gunfire, closes avenues and train stations in RJ

An operation of Rio de Janeiro police in the Israeli Complex region of Rio de Janeiro closes avenues and subway stations on Wednesday afternoon (12). A PM helicopter was hit by two shots. No one was injured.

According to the Military Police, Special Operations Command (COE) participated in a joint action with the Civil Police in the complete communities of Cordovil, Parada de Lucas and Vigário Geral, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

The action, according to PM Carioca, has agents from the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope), the dogs Battalion with dogs and the Shock Police Battalion.

Also according to a statement by the Military Police, in the same region, agents of the Express Policing Battalion and the 16th BPM (Pottery) made the preventive closure of Avenida Brasil and Red Linha to safeguard the safety of the population.

Through social networks, the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police confirmed the action.

In a note published on social networks, Supervia spoke about the closure of train stations.

Rio Bus also confirmed that lines were diverted because of the intense exchange of fire.

Due to the intense shooting in Cidade Alta, 10 municipal bus lines have deviations in the itineraries. A bus circulating on line 774 (Madureira x Jardim América) was shot.

The lawsuit has the use of agents of the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope), the Dog Action Battalion (BAC) and the Shock Police Battalion (BPCHQ). In the same region, agents of the Expressed Road Policing Battalion (BPBE) and the 16th BPM (Pottery) made the preventive closure of Avenida Brasil and Red Linha to safeguard the safety of the population. During the action, a helicopter of the corporation’s aeromobile group was reached and had to take a landing to evaluate the conditions of the aircraft. There was no record of injuries in the occurrence. The operation is still in progress.
