The Bahia Civil Police launched, on the morning of Thursday (20), two simultaneous operations against criminal groups in Salvador, Metropolitan Region, Green Line and other regions. A suspect resisted the arrest and was killed in confrontation with agents.
The operation involves the execution of warrants directed to crime leaders who act both inside and outside the arrests.
Actions aim to combat the drug trafficking , homicides and other crimes in Salvador, metropolitan region, green line and other regions. About 300 civil police officers, organized in 66 operational teams, as well as seven teams in charge of formalizing the necessary procedures, meet arrest warrants and search and seizure.
Operation Dankana, coordinated by the Specialized Department of Research and Repression of Narcotrafficking (DENARC ), focuses on the fight against drug trafficking and is a stage of Operation Narke. Operation Aurantis, coordinated by the Metropolitan Police Department (Depom ) and 26th Territorial Police Station (DT) of Vila de Abrantes, aims to dismantle criminal organizations in the green line.
Arrests, death and group leader
Operations have already resulted in ten arrests. In Operation Aurantis, one of the targets resisted prison and died after being shot. Known as “bird”, he was the second in command of a criminal group in Camaçari.

The Civil Police continue to seek the leader of the Camaçari criminal group, known as “Jelly”, who is on the run and, according to investigations, commands the group from abroad.
