Operation Impacto arrests more than 100 people after approaching vehicles in Amazonas

Operation Impact, a joint action by the Civil and Military Police and coordinated by the Amazonas Public Security Secretariat (SSP-AM), arrested 114 offenders, seized more than 20 weapons and served several arrest warrants in the state of Amazonas on January 4 on March 18th.

The operation aims to strengthen security in the interior of the state and has advanced to the lower and middle Amazonas regions. Actions have already been carried out in the municipalities of Itacoatiara, Rio Preto da Eva, Parintins and Manacapuru.

The action is based on studies carried out weekly by SSP-AM, through the Integrated Center for Public Security Statistics (Ciesp).

According to the Amazonas Public Security Secretariat, through Colonel Vinícius Almeida, there was a decrease in the homicide rate of 22% in the capital and approximately 20% in the interior of the state.

The Military Police declared that all of the corporation's troops are focused on impact actions.

“There are already 13,868 vehicles approached together with the Detran and SSP-AM teams, almost 12 thousand people approached, almost 3 thousand notifications, 501 vehicle removals, nine arrest warrants and 40 alcohol-alcohol reports” declared the commander-general from PMAM, Colonel Klinger Paiva.

One of the actions, carried out in the municipality of Manacapuru, 68 kilometers from Manaus, resulted in the seizure of nine firearms, 2,642 rounds of ammunition of different calibers and a boat that was used by the offenders.

In Rio Preto da Eva, 29 arrests were made and weapons were seized, including a 762 rifle.
