Currently, the complex houses around 1,950 inmates in 11 pavilions
The action is the result of integrated work between SEAP, the National Secretariat for Penal Policies (Senappen), the Public Security Secretariat of Bahia (SSP/BA) and the Public Ministry of Bahia (MP-BA).
More than 250 police officers participate in the operation. According to SEAP, historically, this type of action has contributed to a reduction in crime in Feira de Santana, in the interior of the state of Bahia.
“With the development of this large-scale operation, it is expected to strengthen public security and the integrity of the prison system, ensuring greater control over inmates and contributing to the reduction of criminal activities that may originate within Prison Units”, he explained. the folder in note.
According to SEAP, the choice of the name “Angerona” for the operation, inspired by the goddess of silence, reflects the authorities’ intention to sever possible links between criminal factions.
