The Civil Police arrested, on the morning of Wednesday (7), 17 people suspected of being part of a criminal organization that applied blows involving sale and transfer of cloned vehicles in Rio Grande do Sul. The investigation found that the crime was committed using data from victims obtained through account invasions gov.br.
Police are fulfilling 22 pre -trial detention warrants and 25 search and seizure warrants in Porto Alegre, Viamão, Alvorada, Charqueadas and Arroio dos Ratos, in Rio Grande do Sul; Florianópolis, Sao Jose, Palhoça and Criciúma, in Santa Catarina; and in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The organization, according to police, specialized in estelionatos, document falsification, invasion of computer devices, tampering of motor vehicle identifier and money laundering.
The investigation began after a victim of GravataÃ, the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, to look for the police. She reported that she bought a car announced on a social network, paid $ 80,000 and received the authorization document for vehicle property transfer (ATPV-e). However, in the State Traffic Department (Detranrs), he was surprised by the information that the vehicle would be stolen. The theft would have happened a few days earlier in Porto Alegre.
The Civil Police found that the currently arrested group leader bought stolen or stolen vehicles in Rio Grande do Sul or Santa Catarina. Then the criminal delivered the vehicles to another cell of the group, responsible for cloning and falsifying identifying signs.
Once cloned the vehicle, the criminals passed the new plaque data to a 24 -year -old, technology and data programming, a resident of Rio de Janeiro. According to police, using social engineering, this man could invade the owner of the original vehicle and access the vehicle documentation.

The investigation also pointed out that the group used facade companies in Santa Catarina to wash and conceal the values ​​from the crime.
