Operation targets influencers who taught followers how to circumvent supervision

The Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Police launched an operation last Thursday (28) with the aim of repressing crimes of tax evasion, criminal organization and money laundering, which included the participation of influencers who promoted illegal practices.

The operation targets influencers who provide online courses that teach followers how to circumvent supervision. Some who call themselves “experts” flaunt a life of luxury financed by these illicit practices.

76 search, seizure and seizure warrants were carried out in the states of Goiás, Tocantins, Mato Grosso and Amazonas.

From this, a criminal organization was discovered that operated in the clandestine importation, transport, deposit and sale of electronic products from Paraguay, with activities in the locations that the warrants had been executed.

The action is due to the development of “Operation Mobile”, launched in April this year, triggered by the arrest in the act of several transporters of goods, especially electronic goods, without paying the due taxes.

The organization is made up of several members who have a specialized division of tasks to carry out the illicit importation, marketing, distribution and delivery of electronic devices. The companies involved have million-dollar financial transactions, using cryptocurrencies to carry out illegal transactions and launder money resulting from crimes committed. Losses to public coffers can reach 80 million reais per year, just in evaded federal taxes.

Approximately 133 Federal Revenue Service employees and 300 federal police officers participated in the operation.
