The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and three large operators – MegaFon, MTS and Tele2 – have launched a common service for filing complaints about spam in calls and SMS. It allows subscribers to complain about intruders and, if spam is indeed detected, then all participants in the system will block the number within 72 hours. This is reported by Izvestia.
In the complaint form, which is available on the FAS website and on the web pages of each of the operators, users are required to indicate their full name and phone number, the spammer’s number, a summary of the conversation/message, and the time of the call. The developers claim that the probability of an erroneous blocking is unlikely, since operators will evaluate not only the number of complaints about the number, but also other parameters. The head of the Zecurion analytical center, Vladimir Ulyanov, is sure that system participants can evaluate the volume of calls and the duration of outgoing calls (spam calls usually have a minimum duration).
