OPPO Find X3 enters the Defhouse: the colors of creativity

Entering the Defhouse is a unique experience: colors, lights, energy first strike you, then conquer you. The first creator-friendly house in Italy was opened last October in Milan, it has continued to grow as a social phenomenon and, today, is enriched with a new creative collaboration, the one with the OPPO brand, one of the most important smartphone brands in the world. The new family of phones OPPO Find X3 and the brand’s ecosystem of accessories, in fact, will accompany and support young artists in the creation of their content.

“The Defhouse is an explosion of colors,” he says Isabella Lazzini, Chief Marketing Officer OPPO Italy. «Each area is truly instagrammable: even the anteroom has its own creativity. And this explosion of colors together with the fact that you have very young guys, with a lot of desire to do, who work and create also with technology, has meant that Defhouse represented a crazy creative environment for Find X3 which has as its mantra “the rediscovery of color ”, But in general for OPPO technology. We always say “technology as an art form”, also the art of creating. At any age in any environment. And, even more so, in the most colorful environment in Italy ».

«A partnership», explains Lazzini, «which develops to the extent that the OPPO technology – smartphone, audio, wearable, watch, band – will become the vehicle of their contents for all the social networks that young people turn to. And the beauty is that they will do it with their tone of voice, speaking on TikTok, but not only. TikTok is a social network that distances itself a little from others and where even brands can have a less institutional way of communicating. This is also one of the reasons why we decided to work with them: to bring the story of the brand to the various audiences in a genuine way. To speak to young people you have to do it using their language, with their tone of voice ».

A sparkling communication code, as you can see in the video that we publish above and which was made with OPPO Find X3 Pro by the guys from Defhouse.

We met Simone Berlini, Jasmin Zangare, Davide Moccia, Tommaso Donadoni, Alessia Lanza, Yusuf Panseri, Florin Vitan and Marco Bonetti to understand how to live in the most “instagrammable” house there is. Between study, housework shifts, sports, games … shared with roommates, but also with a total audience that reaches 20 million people.

“It all started in the spring of 2020 – he says Davide Moccia, one of the eight tenants of the Defhouse – when we started to get to know each other, through social media because we come from different places in Italy, and we started interacting, with each other and with the people who followed us. Slowly we all got to know each other, then managing to get the opportunity to be all together, through a path made in the summer: for several weeks we met in different houses, in different parts of Italy. Starting from Como we went to two different houses in Tuscany, then in Brescia and, on October 17th, we finally realized the project and entered the Defhouse. We were very happy with this opportunity ».

Marco Bonetti: “It was a great satisfaction to be part of the whole process”

Simone Berlin: «The nice thing is that at the beginning, when we met, we didn’t think we would get to such a thing. For a group of friends to have such an opportunity is unique and we married her right away. ”

No doubt about moving to a house that is not yours in a new city?
Tommaso Donadoni: «As Davide said, there was a whole path before. We saw that all eight of us were happy and, in this way, we too began to believe in the dream of living together permanently and not just for a week every now and then ».

Could you also give your ideas on the aesthetics of the house?
Davide: «More than anything else we influenced our bedrooms, we managed to customize them according to our tastes. For example mine is blue, because both me and a Yusuf love this color, which inspires us a sense of freedom. In addition, on the walls there are LEDs with our emojis that, before starting, each of us has decided. For example, mine is the “frozen face”, that of Yusuf it’s a ghost. Each emoji has a particular meaning ».

What do you like most about the Defhouse?
Tommaso: «The production room, because it is a space where we have a lot of technologies to make our videos and there is an explosion of creativity: there are conflicting ideas that meet. If I want to make a certain video, I find seven other minds that give me a hand and many ideas to make it a hit. As a concept, however, the thing I like the most is that I am stimulated 24 hours a day, seven days a week ».

Davide: «I like the path that is done inside the house: it is a formative growth. We never go to sleep without having learned anything. As soon as we rest our head on the pillow we are aware that that day we have learned at least one more thing. On the aesthetic side, however, I undoubtedly like this explosion of colors in the house, the fact that it always manages to establish a positive, happy mood. Each wall has a mood of its own and, by changing walls, we change the background for our contents and we can give different shades, different messages. I think it is unique ».

How does your typical day go?
Jasmin Zangare: «I, like some of us, still go to school and attend high school. So I wake up at 8 – at the moment we’re in dad – and I study until about 1.30pm. Youssuf and I study in the morning, while Davide, Tommaso and Marco do the afternoon. Each of us goes to a different address. After the lessons it’s time to cook: we have shifts and a table for this too, to always be coordinated. My afternoon is dedicated to content and training courses. For example acting, taekwondo, cooking, body language, English … In the evening we leave: there are those who study, those who cook … As soon as we have free moments we try to fill them ».

When you work on a Tiktok, on a project how do you make it clear that it can work? What characteristics should it have?
Yusuf: «To make a successful content, everything starts with quality. After that, to make it cool, you have to put something of yourself into it to differentiate it from other content. If there is a trend and they all do certain things, you take it and change it, or you make it something else. This is deemed cool. We mainly deal with transmitting “good vibes”, on Youtube, Instagram or TikTok ».

How important is the smartphone you use and what features should it have?
Florin Vitan: “To make a quality video, you certainly need perfect light – we are equipped with professional tools and lights – then there is also an outfit study behind it and, from a technological point of view, you must have a device that captures you well . We, for example, have started using OPPO Find X3 Pro which is certainly excellent in terms of photography and lights, because it has the ability to capture a billion different colors and make the video better perceived that you can make for the happy. For example, the video we sent you of the tour of the house was made with OPPO Find X3 Pro. Another thing I found myself very comfortable with is the phone stabilizer, which is absurd. Superb ».

Tommaso: «I was struck by the Microscope mode: I was trying it with Davide and we were able to see the slightest imperfections we had on the skin».

Davide: «I also tested the microscope on a cricket and it was absurd: I saw things that with the human eye I would never have been able to look at».

Who are your followers?
Alessia Lanza: «We have different targets on different social networks. For example, on Tiktok they are smaller than on YouTube and Instagram. So we have more responsibility and, therefore, show very positive things and maybe teach something. On Facebook we make more comical contents, on Youtube we always have experiences that ultimately have a lesson. As numbers, if I’m not mistaken, we have a total of between 15 and 20 million followers. But we don’t give so much importance to numbers. We want to give importance to quality and to the people who follow us: transmit good vibes, stimulate them and be a positive point of reference for anyone who follows us ».

It all sounds a lot of fun, but are there any problems between you?
Marco: «Having covered a whole path before, we have overlooked the problems of coexistence. We were able to immediately tell each other the things that were wrong and solve them before even entering ».

Does the project have an expiration date? Will they get you out of the house sooner or later?
Alessia: “The good thing about Defhouse is that we can learn a lot of things. So, basically, when we think we have learned everything we want to know, the path is interrupted. I’m sure it will never happen …

Davide: «Also because – I don’t know if I can spoil it – the goal is very big. We are only at the beginning ».

Simone: «Fortunately we have a great chance. We all speak, not only to an Italian audience, but, especially on TikTok, we have a significant audience from abroad. We are getting noticed all over the world: many of our videos have gone viral, the profile @defhouse_ is growing out of all proportion and every video we make is of – in my opinion – incredible quality. We are here to learn and grow all together, even with the stimuli that Def, the entity of the house, gives us. And, honestly, I want to grow, but not too fast because I don’t want to leave the Defhouse. ‘
