The leaves can be added at the end of soup preparation or broths, as a substitute for spinach or kale. Green juice replacing kale, along with apple, lemon and ginger is a great way to take advantage of its properties, ”says Patricia Axer, nutritionist at the mater dei network of health.

Another possibility is the production of flour, which can be placed in recipes for bread, cakes and homemade pasta, increasing the protein and nutritional content of food.

The indicated amount of consumption, according to experts, is around 50 to 100g per day, which is equivalent to about one or two cups of fresh leaf. There are no contraindications about ora-pro-nobis consumption.

“The plant is generally considered safe for most people when consumed moderately. The only warning is that plants generally contain oxalates, compounds that, in large quantities, can contribute to the formation of kidney stones and people with family history of the problem should consume in moderation,” adds Patricia.
