Oracle Corp. agreed to acquire Cerner Corp. for about $ 28.3 billion, according to Bloomberg.
This is the largest acquisition in Oracle history. Under the cash-only deal, Oracle will pay $ 95 per share, the two companies announced today. That’s a 20% premium on Cerner’s value last Thursday, when it became known the two companies were in talks.
The acquisition of Cerner, which provides IT services to the healthcare industry, is expected to add a broad customer base, strengthening the software maker’s cloud-computing and database operations, according to Bloomberg.
