Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is meeting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today to talk mainly about the war in Ukraine, in the latest leg of a so-far fruitless “mission” to broker a ceasefire. The leaders of the two NATO countries are to discuss “the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East,” Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs said via X. While quick to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Turkey has opted for neutrality between Moscow and Kiev and does not participate in Western sanctions against Russia.
