Order to evacuate Gaza hospitals is “death penalty” for patients, says Palestine Red Crescent

Israel’s demands for the evacuation of hospitals in the Gaza Strip amount to a “death penalty for patients”, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The organization said that the Israeli Forces issued three evacuation orders for Al-Quds hospital on Friday (20). Spokesman Nebal Farsakh told CNN this Sunday (22): “We do not have the means to evacuate them safely. Most of the patients are seriously injured.”

A total of 24 hospitals, including Al-Quds, are under threat of “being bombed, at any time, due to Israeli evacuation orders,” Farsakh said.

A CNN was unable to independently verify this number.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claim that Hamas often uses civilian installations as cover for military operations.

The IDF told CNN on Friday: “Hamas intentionally embeds its assets in civilian areas and uses Gaza Strip residents as human shields.”
