Orders for “Gelendvagen” stopped accepting due to long queues

Mercedes-Benz has suspended orders for its G-Class SUVs as Magna Steyr’s plant in Graz, Austria can’t keep up with demand. Today, when placing a pre-order for Gelendvagen, you have to wait until the fourth quarter of 2024.

According to Motor.ru, there are a number of reasons: a global shortage of semiconductors, problems with the logistics of components, and limited production capacity at an assembly plant. At the same time, the iconic car is breaking sales records: 41,174 such SUVs were sold worldwide last year. This is the best result since the launch of the original W460 in 1979.

As we have already reported, in China, those who wish can purchase a locally produced electric Gelendvagen with a 4 kW engine.
