The Ordinals protocol allows you to create ordinal numbers for individual satoshis and attach data to them via TapRoot. This technology is used to create so-called Bitcoin NFTs, known as βinscriptions.β
The market for digital art powered by Ordinals continues to evolve. On December 7, 2023, it became known that the Sotheby’s auction house put up for auction tokens from the BitcoinShrooms collection.
Honey Badger is one of the early collections, which includes about 10 thousand βinscriptionsβ with a serial number from 8 to 1029518. One of them was sold for 10.4 BTC.
Digital art item number 8 from this collection was purchased by a user of the social network X (formerly Twitter) under the pseudonym OG General. βInscriptionβ was purchased by him on the Magic Eden marketplace.
πͺ Inscription #8 was inscribed when almost no one cared about inscriptions, on Jan 15 at 1 sat/vB. “Ordinals Can not be stopped!!” Back to work, I am just warming up. LFG!! Thanks to the legends @mfigge and @huuep for providing an early insight to me months ago aboutβ¦ pic.twitter.com/V6cOmY3sLF
