The ministries of Health and Labor and Welfare released this Friday (1st) a new ordinance that updates preventive measures against Covid-19 in work environments. One of the highlights of the document is the flexibility in the use of masks in the workplace.
According to the text, the use and supply of surgical or fabric masks is waived in states or municipalities that no longer require their use in closed environments. The ordinance also establishes that, in the event of an alert of an increase in cases of Covid-19 locally, this measure must be reassessed and the equipment provided for all workers.
The document, which is based on improving the epidemiological scenario of the disease in Brazil, also provides working conditions for the prevention and control of transmission.
The text includes the promotion of environments with distance between workers, communication of the main symptoms of Covid-19 and removal of those infected. For companies offering transport, maximum passenger capacity rules must be observed.
Absence from work
The inter-ministerial decree establishes that the organization must remove workers considered suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19 from face-to-face activities for 10 days.
The period can be reduced to seven days, according to criteria established by the Ministry of Health. When there is a need to test workers, the company or organization must respect the recommendations of the folder.
