Ordinance prohibiting companies from requiring proof of vaccination arouses reactions

listen to news

The ordinance published by the Ministry of Labor last week, prohibiting companies from requiring proof of vaccination to hire or fire an employee for just cause, aroused reactions in different sectors of Brazilian society. The decision was contested by union centrals and received criticism from ministers of the Superior Labor Court. In an interview with CNN, Minister Onyx Lorenzoni defended the measure and stated that the RT-PCR test to detect Covid-19 is more reliable than proof of vaccination.

In this episode of E Tem Mais, Carol Nogueira presents an overview of the reactions to the Ministry of Labour’s ordinance. In addition to bringing together different views on the subject, the episode includes the participation of infectologist Renato Kfouri, director of the Brazilian Society of Immunizations (SBIm), who describes the possible impacts of having someone not vaccinated in a work environment.
