Ort Hotel combines well-being experiences with the greenery of Serra da Mantiqueira

About 170 km from São Paulo, the mountain climate, the clean air and the green of the Atlantic Forest mark the experience in Campos do Jordão , one of the most visited destinations in Brazil, especially during winter. It is here, embedded in the middle of nature and surrounded by araucaria trees, that the Ort Hotel calls the heart of Serra da Mantiqueira home.

A luxurious hotel where your stay is defined by sophistication and warmth, the Ort has a history that dates back to 1943, when the main building was built in the Bavarian style. It is clear that he was – and continues to be – an important player in the development of the region.

The inauguration already bet on the tourist potential of this highest city in Brazil , located at 1,639 meters above sea level. After the 1950s, Campos, for those close to home, would gradually become one of the most popular areas for tourists from all over the country in search of mild temperatures.

They were the ones who seduced me into spending a few days at the hotel to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Mantiqueira, with its aromas, ingredients and spectacular landscapes combined with a luxurious stay, is an invitation to a well-deserved rest with the best that the mountain climate has to offer.

Chalets and well-being

If in July the streets of the center of Capivari welcome millions of tourists, the feeling in Ort is the opposite, with days dictated by calm. Whether in winter or summer, the hotel can be a destination in itself since we don't need to leave its premises to enjoy the pleasures that Campos offers us.

With an area of 40,000 m², the hotel underwent a revitalization in 2020 that brought new facilities and a modern and elegant decor, without leaving aside the cosiness. The experience here is entirely based on the pillars of wellnessgastronomy and leisure.

They are in total 60 accommodations and seven chalets , all in a rustic chic style. While the apartments are divided into different categories, the private chalets are my highlights: they elevate the stay by being our mountain home for a few days.

They can reach 180 m² and some are equipped with a kitchen, with the option of a personal chef; in addition to several rooms, which accommodate an entire family; and living spaces, such as the dining room, living room and deck. Not to mention the heated floors in the bathrooms, the balconies that open onto the araucaria trees and the fireplaces that warm us and make evenings spent with wine and fondue even more charming.
