OSCAL Pad 8 is on sale: a thin tablet with a large display and an inexpensive keyboard

A couple of months ago, OSCAL, a sub-brand of Chinese company Blackview aimed at young audiences, unveiled its first smartphone called the C20. And now the brand has decided to expand its range with the launch of the Pad 8 tablet computer.

OSCAL Pad 8 is an inexpensive tablet computer in a thin metal case with a large bright display, a large battery and a removable keyboard. In front, it has a 10.1-inch screen with Full HD + resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels), which occupies 78.5% of the total front panel area. The tablet is based on an eight-core processor in combination with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, expandable using a TF memory card (maximum 128 GB).

A rechargeable battery with a capacity of 6 580 mAh is responsible for the autonomy of the device. Its charge, according to the manufacturer, is enough for 5 hours of video watching, 7 hours of Internet surfing, 5 hours of online games, 28 hours of listening to music and 480 hours of standby time. OSCAL Pad 8 runs under the proprietary operating system Doke_P 1.0 OS with an optimized user interface and a wide range of functions. The platform is based on Android 11.

From wireless connections, the new tablet supports dual-band Wi-Fi and 4G. It also has a 5MP main camera and a 2MP front camera for selfies and video calling, which supports face recognition.

As already mentioned, OSCAL Pad 8 is clad in a metal case, and its screen is protected by durable glass. The tablet is 9.4 mm thick and weighs 547 g with all the hardware. Thanks to the keyboard, which can be purchased separately, the tablet can be easily transformed into a kind of PC, making it a great option for students and office workers.
