Directed by Brady Corbet, the film “The Brutalist” was nominated for the category of “Best Film” at Oscar 2025, this Thursday morning (23), competing with “Anora”, “A Complete Stranger”, “Conclave”, “Dune: Part 2”, “Emilia Pérez”, “I’m Still Here”, “Nickel Boys”, “The Substance” and “Wicked”.
Winner of Best Direction at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, the work also emerged victorious in the categories of Best Drama Film and Best Director at the 2025 Golden Globes.
What is the story of “The Brutalist”?
The epic tells the story of the visionary architect László Toth (Adrien Brody from “The Pianist”) and his wife Erzsébet (Felicity Jones, from “The Theory of Everything”), who, in 1947, escape war-torn Europe to start over and help shape modern America. However, the arrival of an enigmatic client radically changes the course of their lives.
With 3 hours and 33 minutes long the film was acquired by the renowned A24 a prominent distributor at the moment and responsible for hits such as “Tudo em Todo Lugar ao Same Time“, “Aftersun” and “Lady Bird: A Hora de Voar“.
