Oscar-nominated film, Marvel and romance: what hits theaters this Thursday (16)

Marvel releases its first movie of 2023 this Thursday (16): “Ant-Man and Vesta: Quantumania” .

In the plot, superheroes Ant-Man and Wasp explore the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will take them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

The film kicks off phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The previous phase ended with “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever After”, which opened in theaters on November 10, 2022.

The villain Kang the conqueror, who has already appeared in the series “Loki” is one of the novelties of the new phase of the MCU.

Among the premieres of the week there is also a film that competes for the Oscar: “Triangle of Sadness” . The production competes in three categories: Best Film, Direction and Original Screenplay.

In the plot of the Cannes Palme d’Or winner, the social hierarchy is turned upside down.

A model couple is invited onto a luxury cruise ship with a super-rich passenger list and a quirky, alcoholic, Marxist captain.

What at first seems like a perfect trip ends catastrophically, leaving the survivors stranded on a desert island and fighting for survival in a satire where roles and social classes are reversed.

For romantic comedy fans, “Family Wedding” with Diane Keaton Richard Gere and Emma Roberts, is one of the releases of the week.

A young couple close to taking the next step in their relationship and decide it’s time to introduce the families.

What they didn’t imagine is that their families actually know each other very well.

In addition to the premieres, “The Banshees of Inisherin”, “Pearl” , “Knock on the Door” , “Tár” and more are still showing in theaters.
