OTEGLOBE plans to further strengthen its international infrastructure and expand its strategic collaborations within the year, in order to maintain its leading role in Greece and in the wider region of the South East. Of Europe.
The OTE group subsidiary intends to be more active in the developing markets of the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, following a strategy based on two axes:

In this context, as mentioned in the estimates of the company’s management for this year in the financial report of 2021, strategic partnerships and community resources will be utilized for the reclamation of new submarine fiber optic cables, which are being developed in the Mediterranean region, in Greece.
Attracting international Transit traffic for interconnection in the telecommunication centers of Europe through Greece and the network infrastructures of the Company, aiming to make Greece and the OTE group especially an alternative telecommunication node in the Mediterranean region in the coming years. Meeting the needs of interconnection with Europe of the new data centers that are being developed in Greece.
16% increase in operating profitability
The OTE Group subsidiary operates a network based on leased fiber optics with a total length of over 21,000 kilometers that connects the largest telecommunications centers in Europe with more than four distinct routes.
In addition to the terrestrial fiber optic network, OTEGLOBE participates in the Asia-Africa-Europe 1 (AAE-1) submarine cable consortium, with a total length of over 25,000 kilometers that connects Asia, the Middle East and Africa with Europe.
In 2021 the company’s turnover amounted to 349.3 million euros, marking an increase of 1% compared to 2020, while the company recorded an increase of 16% in EBITDA profitability, which amounted to 26.6 million, from 22.8 million euros in 2020. Finally, it is noted that last year OTEGLOBE recently proceeded with a major upgrade of capacities and functionality of its international network.
