Outside the Italian Boxing Federation is the boxer with the Nazi tattoos on his body, Michele Broili.
The tattoos of the 28-year-old, were reported by many Italian media on the occasion of the fight he gave – and lost – last Saturday in Trieste to claim the title of Italian champion in the super lightweight category.
His opponent, Hassan Nurdin, a Moroccan immigrant, told the media that he felt “disgusted” when he “saw the tattoos on Broiley’s body praising Nazism” as well as his “Roman salutations” in the stands.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, which considers it “unacceptable” that the boxer was allowed to enter the ring with these tattoos, the Italian had many “Nazi symbols” on his chest.
The disciplinary committee of the Italian Boxing Federation, which met today (23/9), decided to expel Broli from any competitive activity until at least November 19, the date scheduled for the end of the preliminary investigation opened by the federal prosecutor.
