Over 100 Bluetooth headphones now support fast connection on Android

Fast Pair for Android has received a major update. Google announced that more than 100 models of Bluetooth headphones are currently compatible with the function, including those from partners JBL and Sony – now they can be paired with a smartphone with just one click. Among other things, the Fast Pair setup interface has become more intuitive and convenient. The innovations are already available to all Android users with Bluetooth 4.2 and higher.

The previous version of Fast Pair, which was powered by the first generation Pixel Buds, looked like a mini notification pop-up at the top of the screen. The design turned out to be unfortunate, as the accessory card was simply swiped like other unnecessary notifications, skipping the connection process. The new interface resembles the style of iOS Bluetooth connection: upon detection, a large window appears with a Connect button.
