More than 100 passengers were prevented from boarding a luxury themed cruise in the port of Santos (SP) last Thursday (20). The Pacific Costa Ship, chartered for the “Energy On Board” festival, prevented the boarding of passengers, alleging the so -called overbooking.
The vessel was destined for the city of Angra dos Reis (RJ) and returned to Santos last Sunday (23). Passengers reported waiting for 14 hours to board.
Overbooking occurs when companies sell more services than their real ability to provide.
The cruise promised shows of big names of the 1980s, such as Paulo Ricardo, Sandra de Sá and Jon Derada. According to the calculation of CNN passengers, who disbursed between R $ 5,000 and R $ 12,000 for the booths, reported hours of waiting, lack of information, water and food.
Many, such as digital influencer Wallace “flea”, lost flights and accumulated extra parking expenses, which he said, cost $ 250. “It’s a general psychological frustration, everyone angry,” said flea on their social networks, reporting that many gave up and left.
He shared videos showing the situation faced by passengers. See below:
Sought by CNN Costa Cruzeiros, responsible for the ship, which claims that overbooking was caused by On Board Entertainment, a company that chartered the ship and was responsible for the passenger list.
“Costa clarifies that, in the context of the charter organization, the administration of this cruise and the sending of the passenger list for boarding are the sole responsibility of the drilling, the organizer of the event. The coast advises the guests interested to contact the drilling, responsible for the on board event.”
On Board Entertainment was sought, but did not respond. The space is still open to demonstrations.
Police are investigating a 40 -year -old man suspected of selling more passages than allowed to Cruzeiro. Six victims filed a police report. The case was registered as a estelionato by the 5th Tourist Care Police Station (Deatur).
