The universal hard drive and solid state drive bay can accommodate up to 14 TB HDDs. In addition, there is an M.2 slot for NVMe-enabled SSDs. Without drives, the OWC miniStack STX costs $ 299, with a maximum configuration with a 14TB HDD and a 4TB SSD for $ 1249. Includes a Thunderbolt cable.

The drives in the storage can be combined into a RAID 1 array. Transfer rates up to 770 MB / s. According to the manufacturer, this is enough for editing videos, photos, audio, running virtual machines and day-to-day data backup and sharing. Cooling of drives is provided by an aluminum heatsink and a fan.

The second feature of the OWC miniStack STX is to expand your connectivity to a wide variety of external devices with three USB-C compatible Thunderbolt 4 ports. Thanks to them, you can build three independent chains. Disconnecting or connecting in one of them does not affect the operation of devices in other chains. You can use separately sold USB-C to USB-A cables to connect devices equipped with a USB-A port. In total, you can connect up to five Thunderbolt devices, up to three USB devices, and up to two displays. Supports up to 60 watts to charge your laptop or mobile device.
