Oxxo employees welcome a deaf young man with cake on his first day of work

More and more companies are adapting the culture of inclusion and are open to hiring people with disabilities in order to recognize their work and effort in society. A recent case was the warm welcome given by employees of an OXXO chain store in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, to a new colleague with a hearing disability.

The moving story that we present to you on this occasion was shared on Twitter, where a young man named Luis Alberto (@el_chuchumbe) shared a photo showing five store employees holding a “Welcome” sign, a couple of posters and a cake, claiming they are welcoming their friend Dylan, who is deaf.

With their respective uniform, one of the employees can be seen holding a couple of decorative balloons with phrases such as “The heart of OXXO is you” and “Welcome to OXXO” while a boy holds a cake decorated with the company’s emblematic colors .

Another detail that these empathic colleagues had with the new boy was that on a couple of white sheets they wrote the messages “Welcome to OXXO, Dylan” and “I’m here to help you” not only with letters, but also in sign language.

In the publication, the young man accompanied the image by writing that he had always criticized the OXXO company, but that this time he applauded the way these employees received his friend.

It should be noted that since 2001, the commercial chain of OXXO stores implemented the “Labor Inclusion Program” throughout the country, with which it seeks to provide more job opportunities to people with disabilities.

The publication did not take long to become popular on the social network, so much so that it was seen by the company’s official account, who did not hesitate to comment and applaud the noble and tender gesture that these boys had with their new partner, assuring that they are proud of their collaborators.

These actions are the ones that strengthen inclusion in society, since they are acts that these people appreciate and that make them feel accepted. In addition, there are more and more job opportunities for them. Congratulations Dylan!
