Ozon launches its own social network: with photos, videos and product advertisements

The mobile application of the Ozon marketplace has a completely new section “Moments”, which in some way is the company’s own social network. This section has a vertically scrolling feed (just like TikTok) that can be used by users or even sellers of goods to share unique content. However, it is worth mentioning the limited availability of the new social element of the marketplace right away – the developers gave access to Moments only to a limited audience of users and only in several regions of the country. Access to everyone is promised to be provided a little later.

At the same time, Moments gives content creators the opportunity to post both videos and images, but they do not have to be related to products that are sold on the marketplace. Anyone can post personal photos or recordings of highlights in the new social section of the application, talk about travel, important life events, and so on. There is also a function of subscribing to interesting personalities, and the user himself will have a separate profile for this section and the ability to put likes. In this profile, you can change the name, place an avatar, view your uploaded content.

But if desired, the user can monetize the content that he publishes. To do this, to the video published in Moments, you need to add product cards from the Ozon marketplace site that appear on the video or thematically fit it. The company said that the amount of remuneration that the user will receive directly depends on several factors at once – the number of views, conversion, the number of purchases made, and so on. The developers promise to connect the feature to bloggers and content authors as early as this month — monetization will be available to those who make preliminary applications for access to Moments.

In the foreseeable future, there will even be a function of tasks from sellers of goods – a blogger will be able to take an “order” for a specific product, shoot a video with integration and receive a reward. And in order to attract the attention of the audience and support major content authors, the company plans to allocate a billion rubles for various purposes. A good opportunity for creative individuals not only to publish videos with dances to music, but also to earn money from it.
