Ozon officially launched its accommodation booking service

Representatives of the very popular Russian marketplace Ozon have officially launched a separate hotel booking service as part of Ozon Travel, which they plan to actively develop and refine in the foreseeable future, Izvestia reported with reference to the company’s press service. However, so far the new service operates in a somewhat limited format – in total, users are offered about 70,000 options within Russia and countries accessible to citizens to choose from. Moreover, some functions of the service are not yet activated:

“Now Ozon Travel offers are aggregated from online booking sites, in the future hotels will have access to a special personal account, to which they can connect directly, post their offers and manage prices on their own,” Ozon representatives said.

It is important to note that the cost of booking a hotel or hotel on this service will not differ from the market and, of course, will not exceed the price on the aggregator sites themselves. But they still prepared a nice bonus for regular customers – it is assumed that users who prefer the Ozon service will be able to pay almost the entire cost of the booking with Ozon points. This, of course, is an important advantage for those who often use the marketplace, because, according to the information of the press service, up to 99% of the booking cost can be paid with points. The cashback system will also work – 7% of the amount of the first booking is credited to the account immediately after payment.

The accommodation search service is already available both on the website and in the mobile application, plus in the near future Ozon Travel will acquire a personal rating of hotels, a full database of customer reviews, and even a booking function without prepayment.
