Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG) told CNN on Friday night (4) that “the bills added together can be interesting”. Pacheco refers to the projects that aim to change the price of fuel that are being processed in the House and Senate.
According to him, before deciding which projects will prevail, it is necessary to establish the concepts and a minimum consensus between the government, the Senate and the Chamber.
“What we have to do is identify if there is convergence between the Government, Senate and Chamber in the measures to reduce the price of fuels, such as changes in the ICMS rate, tax monophasia, reduction of federal taxes on diesel, change in the price policy of the Petrobras, creation of an account or compensation fund for high moments and combating tax evasion. Once the concepts are fixed, then we identify the legislative instruments”, he declared.
According to him, “there is no vanity to start in the Senate or the House, much less whether the idea will be from the government or not”.
The demonstration comes after two proposals to change the price of fuel were presented in Congress, one in the Chamber and the other in the Senate, with the support of members of the political wing of the government and without the Ministry of Economy being consulted.
