Eleven people died in sudden floods in the northwestern, mountainous part of Pakistan, at the beginning of the monsoon era, as announced on Friday night by the local disaster management authority. “Sudden floods caused the deaths of 11 people, including three children and three women, as well as the injury (others) six,” yesterday, while “56 houses were damaged and six were completely destroyed,” according to a statement from the Regional Authority. According to the announcement, 10 of them died in the Savat Valley, where, according to local media, the sudden rise of a river drove families on its banks.
