Palestine: 13-year-old Palestinian killed by Israeli fire in West Bank

A Palestinian teenager was shot dead by Israeli forces during an incident in the northern part of the occupied West Bank today, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Mohammed Daadas, 13, was wounded by a bullet in the abdomen when Israeli security forces opened fire in the village of Deir al-Khattab, near Nablus, the ministry told AFP. He was taken to hospital with a heart attack and doctors were unable to bring him back, according to the same source.

Asked by AFP, the Israeli army declined to comment.

Rallies take place in the West Bank every Friday as protesters protest the expansion of Israeli settlements, which are considered illegal under international law.

In Beita, two Palestinians were injured by plastic bullets fired by Israeli forces during one of the demonstrations, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
