Two prisoners from Gaza, one of whom was a doctor at Al Shifa Hospital, have died in Israeli jails, two Palestinian prisoner rights associations said, claiming they were subjected to “torture” and denied access to medical care. In their joint statement, the Prisoners' Club and the Committee for Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs reported the deaths of Dr. Adnan Ahmed Atiyah al-Bours, 50, who headed Al Shifa's orthopedic clinic, and Abdel Bari Rajab Hadir, 33. Both died “after torture and medical crimes suffered by Gaza prisoners,” they added, referring to the lack of treatment that both Israeli and Palestinian human rights groups have denounced.
