Palestinian dead by Israeli fire in West Bank

Palestinian fell dead in occupied West Bank, north of Jerusalem, wounded in the head by Israeli fire.

He succumbed to “head injuries from real bullets in Bir Nabala and his wife was shot in the back,” the health ministry said.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, while the couple was riding “in a car”, as broadcast by AMPE, while no explanation has been given so far as to why the car became a target of fire.

When contacted by AFP, the Israeli military said it had no comment at this time.

The victim was reportedly named Osama Sindki Mansour and was 42 years old.

The agency reported clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers in the Bir Nabala area at night.

The Israeli army has occupied the Palestinian West Bank since the 1967 Six Day War.

There are about 2.8 million Palestinians living there, including some 475,000 Israelis in settlements that are considered illegal under international law.
