At least one person was killed and several were injured after Iran launched a missile attack this Tuesday (1st), according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
A Palestinian was killed in Jericho as a result of the attacks, IDF international spokesman Nadav Shoshani told Jake Tapper of the CNN.
The hospital in Jericho, a city in the occupied West Bank, that treated the man said he died from injuries caused by shrapnel from an interceptor missile launched by Israel to counter the attack.
Shoshani pointed out that Iran’s attack with almost 200 missiles towards Israel was an attempt to “injure and kill civilians” and risked “dragging the region into a wider escalation”.
Asked whether Israel would retaliate, he said: “We will choose the time, place and manner in which we respond to this outrageous attack on Israeli citizens.”
Two people were slightly injured by shrapnel in Tel Aviv, according to emergency services Magen David Adom, from Israel.

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut, as confirmed by the group itself.
Hezbollah and Israel began exchanging attacks after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip. The Lebanese group is an ally of Hamas, which invaded Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, killing hundreds of people and capturing hostages.
Due to the bombings, thousands of residents of northern Israel, where the border with Lebanon is located, had to be displaced. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised several times to return these citizens to their homes.
On September 17, Israel added the return of these residents as an official war objective.
At least two Brazilian teenagers died in the attacks. Itamaraty condemned the situation and called for an end to hostilities.
