Palestinian prisoners will be released in the West Bank and the Negev Desert

Palestinian prisoners to be released after the return of four Israeli hostages on Saturday (25) will be transferred from two places: Derr’s arrest in the occupied West Bank and Ktziot’s prison in the Negev Desert, the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) said.

The Red Cross will then transport the Palestinian prisoners from Off’s arrest to Liberation Points in the West Bank, similar to last week’s release.

Israeli security forces will also escort prisoners liberated for Kem Shalom’s border passage, or Karam Abu Salem, IPS added.

It is still unclear where the released prisoners will go after they arrive at the passage controlled by Israel, at the intersection of the borders of Israel, Gaza and Egypt.

On Friday (24), Hamas said it expects Israel to release about 200 Palestinian prisoners, including 120 prisoners serving perpetual penalties and 80 with high sentences on Saturday as part of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement.

The IPS said it received the list of prisoners, but it has not yet been released.
