Coronavirus spreads to the US continent, reaching new highs, with 7.2 million new infections and more than 15,000 deaths due to complications of Covid-19 last week, the Pan-US Health Organization said Wednesday.
“The virus is spreading more actively than ever before,” the agency’s director, Carissa Etienne, told a news conference.
In North America, the United States and Canada are still facing an increase in the number of hospital admissions due to Covid. At the same time, the Caribbean countries are facing the sharpest increase in coronavirus infections since the onset of the pandemic, according to data from the Regional Health Organization.
