Panic in church full of children as teenager armed with rifle tries to storm service

A service at a Louisiana church turned into a nightmare when a 16-year-old armed with a rifle tried to enter the venue through the back door. Parishioners spotted the teenager and cornered him, holding him outside until the police arrived and arrested him. The incident unfolded at the Catholic Church of St. Mary Magdalen in Abbeville – which was full of parents with young children who had been there for the transition ceremony. The incident was broadcast live on the church's website Saturday morning, as Father Nicholas G. Dupré called the faithful to prayer from the pulpit. In the dramatic video, parishioners sitting in the pews at the front of the church can be seen nervously looking behind them as the commotion began about 48 minutes into the service. Seconds later, an unidentified man wearing a suit approaches Dupré in the middle of the service and whispers something in his ear, at which point he calmly asks the worshipers to escort him out. […]
