Paola Carosella says she already regretted arguing on social media

In an interview with À Prioli, Paola Carosella talked about her active presence on social media and her speeches on Brazilian issues, including controversial ones. “I regretted it at times because sometimes reprisals don’t come against me,” she explained. “They come against the people who work with me, or they come against the stores, or they come against my daughter. So when I understood that the space was not safe to manifest in certain fields, I guarded myself a little bit”.

The cook also added that she decided to reserve herself more for fear of social networks getting in the way of the process to obtain Brazilian naturalization, and that her main objective with the process is to be able to vote. “I was already a permanent resident and could have stayed that way my whole life, but I wanted to vote. It is very important to exercise this right, I think it is fundamental that we are part of it. Brazil is a little politicized country. Through history, through social construction, people feel that politics is a space of power that does not belong to them. That belongs to untouchable figures and I think it’s very important that that changes.”
