Paola Egonu sets the record: between talent and teamwork

Paola Egonu is reconfirmed to be the woman of records. In the Nations League final against Brazil, she surpassed herself: she led the Italian national team to victory and broke a world record with the fastest dunk ever: 112.7 km per hour. All this earned her the title of MPV, best hitter of the competition.

An extraordinary talent, the result of personal skills beyond the average, years of training and team play, as he told us during the second episode of the Oppo Meetsa series of digital meetings promoted by Oppo Italia, a smartphone and technology brand, and created in collaboration with Vanity Fair, dedicated to female empowerment and technology.

In team sport, as in social battles, in fact, teaming up, supporting each other and exercising fair play it is essential to “make a point”. And Egonu is a wonderful example of this. Sport is a metaphor for life and many of its principles can be inspiring in real life. Especially when it comes to female empowerment.

With Isabella LazziniChief Marketing Officer of Oppo Italia, during the four meetings to be held until the end of 2022, we will talk about enhancement of women’s skills and resources in the various areas of life, from work, to culture to psychology. The second episode of the Oppo Meets will also see the protagonist Paola Egonu, volleyball champion and author of the essay dedicated to the youngest, “18 secrets to becoming stars”, a manual for children and adults with suggestions also borrowed from sport to become “grown-ups”. With the sportswoman and Isabella Lazzini, sporting dynamics will be combined with those of social networks to find meeting points and ideas to “feel the pulse” of female empowerment in sport and in the digital world.
