Paola Iezzi: “When I separated from my sister Chiara I often thought about death”

THEto musical history of Paola Iezzi for eighteen years has been linked to that of her sister Chiara: symbiotics, together they wrote songs and produced them in the studio. Then in 2013 the separation, decided by Chiara who had “started to suffer that combination”. Ten years later, the surprise reunion (in Sanremo 2023) who filled with joy of all the fans of the former couple of blood and notes. Now the fifty -one -year -old Paola, a guest of Belverevealed that after the separation she and the older sister “for a couple of years” they did not feel: “Chiara had a very complex personal crisis”. Paola, for his part, after the breakdown he felt “lost »:« I often thought of death, I thought that for me it could end there. I felt that nothing more made sense. I worried and said to myself: the time has come to help me. It has been ten intense and difficult years for the two of us, but of great learning ».

Chiara had also spoken of the removal last March. Revealing: “When I was on their way to my sister Paola, it was the grandmother, thanks to a Christmas lunch in the family, who made us peace.” And so, thanks to the grandmother of the two singers, the return of Paola & Chiara on stage in 2023 sanctioned not only a musical reunion, but also the rediscovery of a bond that, despite everything, had never really broken.

Paola, in Francesca Fagnani’s living room, spoke of her sister but also of her sentimental life. And speaking of the very long relationship with the director Paolo Santambrogioto which he has been linked since 2007, revealed: «I say this to Belve For the first time, We had a crisis and we broke up for six months». Iezzi then revealed that in the private “it likes the colorful language a little. Together with other things, all in the limit …I feel like a gay in a woman’s body “. After this last declaration Fagnani urged it: “Do you feel gay only inside or even in fact?”. And Iezzi, ironic: “I have always had a weakness for intelligent women and with a slightly male attitude, a bit like her … let’s say that the other thing I like much more!”.
