The coffin, preceded by a simple book of the Gospels, was carried by the gentlemen of his holiness – stewards or breeds of the Pope.
Authorities expect more than 200,000 people for the funeral.
Also according to the authorities, there will be a “very small” procession, with some car cardinals to the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica, where Francisco asked to be buried.
The funeral procession will pass through the Pasa Galleria, cross the Tiber River bridge, Corso Vittorio and Piazza Venezia.
