The first day of the Gold Series parade lasted until dawn this Thursday (21). The first day of the party was marked by several delays. One of them was after another accident with an 11-year-old girl.
The presentation of the seventh and last samba school to parade, Acadêmicos do Sossego, ended around 7:30 am. The parade was expected to end by 3 am.
In Cima da Hora, Acadêmicos do Cubango, Unidos da Ponte, Unidos do Porto da Pedra, União da Ilha do Governador, Unidos de Bangu and Acadêmicos do Sossego opened the parades at Rio de Janeiro’s samba schools, marking the return of the traditional Carnival. carioca at Sapucaí, also known as the greatest show on earth.
Until the last survey by the Municipal Health Department (SMS), 213 people needed medical care. Among them, 13 patients with more delicate conditions were transferred to emergency units of the municipal network.
An 11-year-old girl was seriously injured in the accident with a float belonging to the school “Em Cima da Hora”, on the way out of the Sambadrome. The child was taken to the Sapucaí medical center and then transferred to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital, in downtown Rio.
According to witnesses, the girl would have climbed on the club’s float, and her legs were pressed together. According to the latest medical report, the patient underwent surgery and remains in serious condition.
Today (21) on the second day of the parade, Sapucaí receives the following groups: Lins Imperial, Inocentes de Belford Roxo, Estácio de Sá, Santa Cruz, Unidos de Padre Miguel, Vigário Geral, Império da Tijuca and Império Serrano.
Schools have between 45 and 55 minutes to parade in Sapucaí. The time is shorter than for the schools of the Special Group, which are presented tomorrow (22), and has 60 to 70 minutes.
The Independent League of Samba Schools (Liesa) expects to receive an audience of 75 thousand people per day, distributed in the 13 sectors of the Sambadrome.
Liesa also informed that all tickets for sectors 6 and 8 of Sapucaí were sold for the special group parade. There are still tickets available for other sectors from R$15.
Most of the Marquês de Sapucaí Sambadrome cabins still have tickets. About 75% of the capacity has already been reached in the main cabins and the expectation is that demand will increase in the coming days.
