A Liesa (Independent League of Samba Schools of Rio de Janeiro) decided in plenary this Monday (6) that the parades of Samba schools of the Rio de Janeiro Special group will go from two to three days starting in 2025.
In the new configuration, four schools will perform on each date. The other new feature is that the judges' scores will now be finalized at the end of each day.
“As part of this initiative, we want to enable a reduction in the price of stands, with the aim of making tickets even more affordable. We will also ensure that more people are at the Sambadrome on different days”, highlighted the president of Liesa, Gabriel David.
On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Unidos de Padre Miguel, current champion, will be the first to perform. On Monday, the 3rd, Unidos da Tijuca, 11th in the Special Group, will open the presentations; and on Tuesday Mocidade, 10th in the Special group, begins the parades. The other schools will have their order defined in a draw on the 23rd.
