Paraguay: Leading executive of the EPP guerrilla organization was killed in army raid

A man allegedly a leader of the small EPP guerrilla organization, who is active in the east and northeast of Paraguay, was killed on Sunday in a military operation, according to a statement from the country’s defense minister, Oscar Gonzalez. A soldier was also injured during the operation. The deceased guerrilla was named as Ruven Dario Lopes, “a very important person in this criminal structure that calls himself a ‘Ejército del Pueblo Paraguayo’ (EPP),” the minister said during a press conference in Assunion.
