The Civil Police of Paraná indicted, this Friday (15), Jorge José da Rocha Guaranho, murderer of PT militant Marcelo Arruda, for qualified homicide for the clumsy motive and for causing common danger.

On Saturday night (9), municipal guard Marcelo Arruda had his birthday party invaded by federal penitentiary agent Jorge José da Rocha Guaranho. Arruda was a member of the leadership of the Workers’ Party (PT) in Foz do Iguaçu (PR) and had the decoration of the celebration of his 50 years in honor of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the PT.
According to reports from those present, Guaranho went to the place shouting the name of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). He was asked to leave the place and he said he would return. Arruda then went to her car and took her gun. About 10 minutes later, Guaranho returned and shot Arruda, who managed to fight back and shoot him as well. The birthday boy died, while Guaranho was taken to hospital in serious condition.
The secretary of public security of Foz do Iguaçu, Marcos Jahnke, confirmed to the CNN that the crime was motivated by political differences.
In a note, the PT says that Marcelo Arruda was murdered by a Bolsonarista. He also highlighted that Marcelo was a municipal guard and a great PT militant, having been a candidate for vice mayor in Foz do Iguaçu in the 2020 elections.
The PL informed that it will not comment on the case and that it does not have information on whether Jorge José da Rocha Guaranho is a member of the party.
