Parents of Israeli soldiers plead not to fight in Rafah – 'It's a death trap'

The parents of Israeli soldiers made a dramatic appeal, asking that there be no ground attack on Rafah, which they described as a death trap. According to a report by the Guardian, the parents of more than 900 soldiers sent a letter to Defense Minister Yoav Galand and the Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi. “It is obvious to anyone with common sense that after months of warnings and announcements about an invasion of Rafah, there are forces on the other side actively preparing to strike our troops,” they wrote in the letter. “Our sons are physically and mentally exhausted,” they added, noting: “And now, you intend to send them to this dangerous situation? … This appears to be nothing short of recklessness.
