Parintins Festival: see images from the first night of performances

The 57th edition of the Parintins Folklore Festival began on Friday night (28) on the island that gives its name to the festival, located in the state of Amazonas. The Caprichoso and Garantido bois-bumbás performed for the first time in the fight for this year’s title.

Caprichoso opened the proceedings with the theme “Roots: the intertwining of people and struggles,” which set the tone for Friday’s presentation. The blue ox proclaimed the triumph of the people, focusing on the cultures planted, born and sustained in the middle of the Brazilian Amazon. The diversity of the peoples, blacks, indigenous people, riverside dwellers, and masters of local popular culture were also highlighted.

Garantido, in turn, will have as its theme for the three days of the festival “Secrets of the Heart”. On the first night, the group had as its subtheme the origin of life, passing through the Amazon as the center of resistance of blacks and native peoples, and all the mysteries that surround this resistance, reaching Baixa da Xanda, where Garantido itself was created by master Lindolfo Monteverde.

The red ox also had the presence of Isabelle Nogueira, a member of the group that brought Parintins culture to BBB 24, where she came in third place. See here how the dancer evolved on the first night of performances.
