Japan has become the “executioner of Brazil” in 2024 Olympic Games . Over the weekend and this Monday (29), the Asian country defeated Brazilian athletes in several modalities at the Paris Olympics, which ended becoming memes on social media. See below.
Brazil’s first defeat to Japan occurred in the under 66 kg category of the men’s judo on Sunday (28). William Lima won the silver medal after being defeated in the final by Hifumi Abe.
Already in women’s street skateboarding Rayssa Leal won the bronze, with 253.37. Japanese Coco Yoshizawa took the gold (269.93) and Japanese Liz Akama took the silver (265.95).
Brazil also lost in the women’s football comeback, by 2 to 1, and got into trouble in the classification.
This Monday, it was Rafaela Silva’s turn to lose the bronze medal dispute to Haruka Funakubo in women’s judo .
Brazilian Kelvin Hoefler was left out of the podium. men’s street skateboarding won in first place by the Japanese Yuto Horigome.
Another sport in which Brazil was unlucky against the Japanese was in women’s rugby sevens . The Brazilians were defeated by 39 to 12 and finished last in the group.
Finally, Filipe Toledo was defeated by the Japanese Reo Inaba in the surfing, in Teahupoo, French Polynesia, and said goodbye to the competition in the round of 16.
